Hydrogeological servicing
Hydrogeological servicing is a professional supervision of the groundwater deposits’ development, the operation of wells and water intakes within the legal framework of the Code on Subsoil, the Water Code of Ukraine, and the Law of Ukraine on Licensing of Certain Types of Economic Activity.
Professional hydrogeological servicing helps the subsoil user to effectively and rationally use and extract underground water without harming the environment. The availability of permits, geological information, technical development projects, documentation of current information, and the results and analysis of hydrochemical observations allow the subsoil user to avoid wrong decisions and violations.
One of the main types of work in hydrogeological servicing is measuring the levels of groundwater in wells. Groundwater levels can be measured with various technical instruments, and the choice of instrument depends on the depth of the aquifer. Common instruments include hydrological tapes, electric level meters, and echo sounders. Natural features, knowledge of the area, and technological factors determine the frequency of groundwater level measurements.
During hydrogeological monitoring, static level (the position of the water level at rest) and dynamic level (the position of the rapidly moving water level during pumping or restoration to static level) are measured. The measurement of groundwater levels is regulated by the Order of the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine No. 334 of 15.09.2010. Based on the results of routine hydrochemical observations, it is important to assess the condition, impact, and risks of situations, models of existing and forecasted technological and natural hazards.
The specialists of the “Geology Institute” LLC will be happy to conduct hydrogeological monitoring and provide professional recommendations to the subsoil user regarding the necessary organizational and technical measures for further safe operation of water intakes, wells, or underground water deposits.
