Andrii Loktiev

Chair­man of the Super­vi­so­ry Board

PhD in Geo­log­i­cal Sci­ences. Has held engi­neer­ing and research posi­tions at PJSC “Ukr­hazvy­dobu­van­nya”, JV “Polta­va Gas and Oil Com­pa­ny”, served as Project Man­ag­er of Sub­soil Use Reform at the Min­istry of Envi­ron­ment, and as Head of “Geopow­er Ukraine” LLC and UkrS­GRI. Holds degrees in “Petro­le­um Geol­o­gy” and “Man­age­ment”.

Hon­ored Sub­soil Explor­er. Has over 20 years of expe­ri­ence man­ag­ing a state geo­log­i­cal explo­ration enter­prise (Sci­en­tif­ic and Pro­duc­tion Cen­ter UkrS­GRI) and a team of more than 200 employ­ees. At the Insti­tute of Geol­o­gy, she over­sees effec­tive col­lab­o­ra­tion with sub­soil users. Award­ed the V.I. Luchyt­sky and L.I. Lutu­g­in medals, as well as cer­tifi­cates of mer­it from the State Geo­log­i­cal Ser­vice and the May­or of Kyiv.

Mykola Kostenko

Doc­tor of Geo­log­i­cal Sci­ences, State Com­mis­sion of Min­er­al Resources (SCMR) expert. Recip­i­ent of mul­ti­ple indus­try awards. Over 50 years of pro­fes­sion­al and sci­en­tif­ic expe­ri­ence in state com­pa­nies and research insti­tu­tions. Key research areas: stratig­ra­phy, tec­ton­ics, mag­ma­tism, and met­al­loge­ny.

Mariia Merezhko

Head of the Geo­log­i­cal Research Depart­ment

Leads the Geo­log­i­cal Research Depart­ment at the Insti­tute of Geol­o­gy. Pas­sion­ate about trans­form­ing data and fig­ures into clear reports and visu­al mate­ri­als. Her projects com­bine sci­en­tif­ic pre­ci­sion with visu­al clar­i­ty, help­ing sub­soil users bet­ter under­stand field devel­op­ment. Val­ues the bal­ance between sci­en­tif­ic accu­ra­cy and cre­ative visu­al­iza­tion.

Diana Martyniuk

Geol­o­gist

Holds a degree in “Geol­o­gy, Prospect­ing, and Explo­ration of Min­er­al Deposits”. Works on deposit mod­el­ing in GIS and per­forms geo­log­i­cal and eco­nom­ic eval­u­a­tions. Com­bines aca­d­e­m­ic knowl­edge with prac­ti­cal tasks, steadi­ly expand­ing her pro­fes­sion­al expe­ri­ence. Believes that mod­ern tech­nolo­gies and atten­tion to detail open new oppor­tu­ni­ties for geol­o­gy.

Anna Rusanova

Geo­log­i­cal Tech­ni­cian

Stu­dent of Taras Shevchenko Nation­al Uni­ver­si­ty of Kyiv. Com­bines her stud­ies with work as a geo­log­i­cal tech­ni­cian: works with geo­log­i­cal mate­ri­als, par­tic­i­pates in the con­struc­tion of cross-sec­tions, prepa­ra­tion of tables, and office data pro­cess­ing. She is inter­est­ed in applied geol­o­gy and con­sid­ers prac­ti­cal expe­ri­ence to be the best con­tin­u­a­tion of uni­ver­si­ty the­o­ry.

Anna Hontaruk

Geo­log­i­cal Tech­ni­cian

A stu­dent of Taras Shevchenko State Uni­ver­si­ty of Kyiv who com­bines her stud­ies with work as a geo­log­i­cal tech­ni­cian. Par­tic­i­pates in the pro­cess­ing of geo­log­i­cal mate­ri­als, con­struc­tion of geo­log­i­cal cross-sec­tions, and main­te­nance of tech­ni­cal doc­u­men­ta­tion. Believes that geol­o­gy is a pro­fes­sion that teach­es one to see deep­er than the sur­face of the Earth.

Valentyna Syniuk

Lead­ing Hydro­ge­ol­o­gist

Grad­u­at­ed from Taras Shevchenko Nation­al Uni­ver­si­ty of Kyiv. Has over 35 years of expe­ri­ence as a hydro­ge­ol­o­gist in var­i­ous geo­log­i­cal and explo­ration insti­tu­tions (“Geoser­vice” CDGP, “Ukr­ge­ofizy­ka” State Enter­prise, “UkrS­GRI” SPC, etc.). At the Insti­tute of Geol­o­gy, she pre­pares reports on geo­log­i­cal and eco­nom­ic eval­u­a­tions of ground­wa­ter reserves, designs san­i­tary pro­tec­tion zones, and devel­ops tech­no­log­i­cal schemes.

Nina Buyan

Lead­ing Hydro­ge­ol­o­gist

Grad­u­at­ed from Taras Shevchenko State Uni­ver­si­ty of Kyiv with a degree in “Hydro­ge­ol­o­gy and Engi­neer­ing Geol­o­gy”. Has exten­sive expe­ri­ence in the study and eval­u­a­tion of ground­wa­ter reserves and serves as an SCMR expert in ground­wa­ter and hydromin­er­al resources. Val­ues pre­ci­sion, con­sis­ten­cy, and a sci­en­tif­ic approach in all mat­ters relat­ed to geol­o­gy and water.

Nataliia Luzhanova

Lead­ing Hydro­ge­ol­o­gist

Grad­u­at­ed from Taras Shevchenko State Uni­ver­si­ty of Kyiv with a degree in Hydro­ge­ol­o­gy. Has over 30 years of expe­ri­ence in the research, assess­ment, and sus­tain­able use of ground­wa­ter resources. Works on geo­log­i­cal and eco­nom­ic eval­u­a­tions of deposits, design of san­i­tary pro­tec­tion zones, and hydro­ge­o­log­i­cal sup­port for enter­pris­es. Despite her exten­sive expe­ri­ence, she con­tin­ues to refine approach­es to study­ing water resources, com­bin­ing sci­en­tif­ic knowl­edge with prac­ti­cal solu­tions.

Grad­u­at­ed in 2025 from Taras Shevchenko Nation­al Uni­ver­si­ty of Kyiv with a Master’s degree in “Earth Sci­ences” spe­cial­iz­ing in Hydro­ge­ol­o­gy. At the Insti­tute of Geol­o­gy, advanced from a hydro­ge­o­log­i­cal tech­ni­cian to con­duct­ing geo­log­i­cal and eco­nom­ic eval­u­a­tions of ground­wa­ter deposits. Appre­ci­ates oppor­tu­ni­ties to tack­le uncon­ven­tion­al chal­lenges in his work.

In 2025, she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Earth Sci­ences from Taras Shevchenko Nation­al Uni­ver­si­ty of Kyiv. At the Insti­tute of Geol­o­gy, she holds the posi­tion of a hydro­ge­ol­o­gist and takes part in pro­cess­ing hydro­ge­o­log­i­cal mate­ri­als as well as mea­sur­ing the lev­els of aquifers. She believes that the most fas­ci­nat­ing part of her work is uncov­er­ing the log­ic of hydro­ge­o­log­i­cal process­es, which, though invis­i­ble to the naked eye, are essen­tial for our lives.

Also served as Deputy Head of the Oil and Gas Depart­ment at the Lviv Region­al State Admin­is­tra­tion. Author of numer­ous mono­graphs, sci­en­tif­ic arti­cles, and patents.

Olena Kachalova

Lead­ing Econ­o­mist

Grad­u­at­ed from Kyiv Nation­al Eco­nom­ic Uni­ver­si­ty in 2004 with a Master’s degree in Enter­prise Eco­nom­ics. From 2004 to 2007 worked as an econ­o­mist at PJSC “Pivnichukrhe­olo­hiya”. From 2007 to 2024 served as a Lead­ing Econ­o­mist in the Depart­ment of Geo­log­i­cal and Eco­nom­ic Eval­u­a­tion and Sub­soil Use Issues at UkrS­GRI. Expert of the State Com­mis­sion of Min­er­al Resources of Ukraine.

Anastasiia Shomko

Senior Sub­soil Use Man­ag­er

Grad­u­at­ed with a Master’s degree in “Hydro­ge­ol­o­gy” from Taras Shevchenko Nation­al Uni­ver­si­ty of Kyiv in 2025. Assists sub­soil users through all stages of obtain­ing per­mits for sub­soil use, pre­pares report­ing doc­u­men­ta­tion, and con­tributes to geo­log­i­cal and eco­nom­ic eval­u­a­tions of ground­wa­ter deposits. Val­ues her work for its mean­ing­ful role in pro­mot­ing respon­si­ble nat­ur­al resource man­age­ment.

Grad­u­at­ed in 2020 from Taras Shevchenko Nation­al Uni­ver­si­ty of Kyiv with a Master’s degree in “Earth Sci­ences,” spe­cial­iz­ing in Petro­le­um Geol­o­gy. At the Insti­tute of Geol­o­gy, par­tic­i­pates in the restora­tion and prepa­ra­tion of well pass­ports and assists sub­soil users in prepar­ing doc­u­men­ta­tion pack­ages and appli­ca­tions for spe­cial sub­soil use per­mits.

She grad­u­at­ed in 2025 from Taras Shevchenko Nation­al Uni­ver­si­ty of Kyiv, earn­ing a Master’s degree in Earth Sci­ences with a spe­cial­iza­tion in Hydro­ge­ol­o­gy. At the Insti­tute of Geol­o­gy, she is engaged in restor­ing and prepar­ing well pass­ports, as well as con­tribut­ing to the edit­ing of geo­log­i­cal and eco­nom­ic eval­u­a­tion reports and mea­sur­ing the lev­els of aquifers.
